What is our approach to treatment?

Reflecting our training, experience, and philosophy regarding mental health, we strongly believe in the importance of using treatment methods that are based on extensive study and scientific research. Hence, we focus on using targeted, short-term, treatments where suitable. We also value the importance of creating a therapeutic partnership nested in a context of empowerment, trust, and confidentiality. When we work with children and adolescents we value creating partnerships with parents and the family so that treatment can have long-lasting and systemic effects. We also partner with other professionals when needed. For example, we can help you find qualified professionals for psychotropic medications or psychoeducational evaluations and work closely with these professionals on making sure that treatment is coordinated and effective.

3-Phase Therapy

We begin by offering a free 15-minute phone consultation to determine if our services and approach are appropriate for you.

Design Phase

Once we meet in session, we begin with an intensive assessment, or design phase, that equips us to better interpret the difficulties in your life.

Implementation Phase

After assessment, we customize a treatment plan, or implementation phase, that utilizes your natural resources and encourages individual responsibility within the therapy process.

Evaluation Phase

After treatment we will provide an evaluation phase to assess the effectiveness of the therapeutic process. You may then move into one of two stages: continuation of treatment or successful resolution and termination of treatment.
